A Letter from Texas

by John C. Westervelt

Last month I wrote about my son’s family moving to Texas. While I question, Amy, age twelve, understands, as expressed in her letter to me. I should not have been surprised for Jesus said, "Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:3.

Dear Grandpa,

How are you? I’m doing good. The drive to Houston was about eight hours (not counting stops). Me and my Mom rode together with the dog. The drive really didn’t seem that long to me. The apartment is a lot nicer that the old one. It has a nice pool and a nice workout room. I miss you a lot! I also miss Saturday lunches with you. But I know that God is in control and that he moved us here for a reason. Nothing much is going on here. Our house is coming along well. We’ll move in on the 16th of August. We close on the 14th. The moving company is booked for the 15th. And tomorrow night I have soccer practice. I miss you! I got to go. I love you.

Love, Amy
